Protect Your Ears
You lose more heat through your head than any other body part. The dumber your head-gear looks, the warmer it is.
Wear Mittens
Fingers are highly susceptible to frostbite. Mittens work better than gloves in keeping fingers warm because of the lower surface area.
Dress in Layers
The more layers, the better. Layers allow you to regulate your body temperature more accurately and if you get too warm, you can always open up a layer.
Wear Warm Boots
Your feet are in contact with the cold ground so you should wear well-insulated boots. Favor natural materials. Wear wool socks if you can find them and layer them if necessary.
